Speaker Bio:  

Michael A. Corbett, a native of Pelham Manor, NY, has an MBA from Emory University and a BA from the University of Mississippi. He has studied advanced international finance at the London School of Business.

In 2011, after Tennessee Governor Haslam reinvigorated the captive statutes, Corbett joined the Insurance Division as chief regulator of captive insurance. During his tenure, his team formed over 700 Risk Bearing Entities (RBEs) representing over $6.5 Billion in cumulative premiums and $16 Million in total revenue for the State of Tennessee.

Since joining Pinnacle Financial Partners (PNFP) in March 2020, Corbett has been charged with the goal of establishing PNFP as a world class financial service provider focused on the captive insurance industry. He also serves as president of PNFP’s captive - Apex Captive Insurance Company.

Corbett is the past president of the Tennessee Captive Insurance Association (TCIA); he represents PNFP as a member of the Tennessee Business Roundtable; and he sits on the board of several captive insurance companies
